In 2024, a school with multiple locations closed its Fountain Hills branch. With this troubling news, a group of concerned parents collaborated and decided, instead of disrupting the education their children were receiving from their current teacher, hire their children’s teacher and continue the 24/25 school year.
Midway through the school year, the families agreed that their students were thriving in a smaller classroom structure and saw the need to continue. Soon after deciding to continue, neighbors and friends of the group began expressing their need for a structured and nurturing learning environment for their children to grow. This is when recognition for the need to become official happened and when Pangaea Schoolhouse was born.
As the name suggests, Pangaea Schoolhouse is reminiscent of the single teacher schoolhouse, holding children of various ages, grade levels, and backgrounds, just as the supercontinent, Pangaea, could have done. As a schoolhouse and parents, our objective is to work together to provide a nurturing environment for our children to learn. We believe one of the best ways to accomplish this is by utilizing Christian values as the glue that binds us to that objective.

Microschools are a unique and enriching alternative to traditional public and charter schools. The smaller intimate settings found in microschools provide more opportunity for personalization and hands-on education; this is one of the many benefits a student receives when attending Pangaea Schoolhouse. Our low student-to-teacher ratio, allows teachers to address student's unique needs, learning style, and interests; which fosters better academic outcomes, deeper social-emotional and holistic growth.
In addition to academic support and flexible curricula, the hands-on learning opportunities we offer encourage community involvement and real-world application of the information learned. Empowering students to not only take ownership of their academic and life success, but an active role in society.
Our goal is to provide a nurturing, encouraging, and engaging learning experience. Our model reinforces information learned in each subject, which means potentially less time needed for homework and tutoring.
